Talking to me while I'm taking a dump.

I'm taking a dump, can we talk later?

You walk in to the men's room, see someone you know and exchange pleasantries. Ok fine. Once I enter the bathroom stall to drop a deuce, please, I'm begging you, STOP TALKING TO ME. You can't ignore the person or hide. All you can do is sit there, feeling helpless and awkwardly responding to their inane thoughts and questions.

Sometimes guys will talk to ME while they're doing a number 2. It even makes me feel awkward. I talk for a bit and then get out of there.

Talking to anyone, or having anyone talk to me while I'm in the can is just plain wrong. A complete and total breach of bathroom etiquette.

I know a few families that have an open door policy when it comes to time on the can. I will NEVER understand it. It's as bad as talking to someone on the phone as they're backing one out...egad.

Thanks to a recent torrent of spam, I’ve had to disable comments for a while. I’ve now removed the ability to put links in the comments. Email me if you want to put something in, such as five links to knock-off handbag sites, and I’ll happily oblige.

I’ve added two features to the sidebar: Highest Rating and Hotly Debated. They will be updated daily. To my surprise, the ketchup-in-fridge peeve seemed to really incite some anger — it’s clearly a complex situation that affects us all.

It should be noted that the star ratings indicate how much you agree with, or appreciate, the peeve, not how you feel when it happens.

I will be adding a Paragon Peeves section as well, for my and my friends’ personal favorites.
