Yeah, most adults don't need to be shushed because they are thoughtful of the other people around them. Perhaps you should examine why you are being shushed, maybe no one wants to hear your loud obnoxious conversation or your god awful cackling. I can only assume it's one of the two.

Wow this is also my number one pet peeve. Being shushed is incredibly rude and it is somewhat condescending. I'd rather someone tell me "not now" or "can this wait", but "shhh?" I'm not a 4 year old.

If you're getting shushed, it's because you're too loud. If this is in a movie theater, take your conversation outside, idiot.
