Forced poetry.

When someone forces you to listen to poetry that they have written and then is disapointed that you don't have any positive feedback.

I have to add the reverse -- when people (do) ask to read my poetry, and then DON'T SAY ANYTHING. Dudes -- I can handle the truth!! I wouldn't have let you read it if I didn't trust your criticism...

But how do you tell the husband of your best friend that his poetry still reeks of high school, goth-boy angst when he's 40?

I feel similarly violated when one of my musician friends suddenly decides to get guitarded and then gets all weird and huffy if I don't get out my tambourine of approval.
