When you and your roommate both use universal household products (coffee, hand soap, toilet paper) but you buy the expensive version or large package, and the roommate uses the last of your contribution and "replaces" it with a far crappier one.

While I'm sure it was with much sweat-of-the-brow that you contributed that travel-sized envelope of instant coffee to the opulence of our home, if you ever again use the last of my Kona peaberry coffee and tell me you've "replaced" it with that shit while acting as though you deserve a special hat for your efforts, I will personally remove your internal organs with my teeth. This particularly irks me when the other roommate is noticeably more financially capable than I am: it's not like I have the money for a steady stream of luxury products, so the ones I do spring for actually count. Either pony up or no more sharing.

Hm....I had a similar situation with a roommate of mine only I'm the cheap one. We don't share coffee, but we do share things like Toilet paper and dish soap. I always buy generics and scott 1000 sheet and she always buys top of the line sh*t that's a waste of money in my humble opinion. She even went so far as to not use the Scott 1000 sheet but instead use her quaduple-ply charmin that has two squares per roll. However, then she'd always run out and the only stuff in the cabinet was the stuff I bought.

Omg,I know excatly how ye feel,my roomate and her daughter have done the same to me and my husband so sadly we have taken up arms,we bought a small enclosed shelf and small box fridge that we now keep in our bedroom, her and I both have cats, she has 4 and I have 7,the agreement was when she moved in her and I would rotate every other week buying dry cat food, well for the last 3 weeks I have bought it and wot really piss's me off is when her cats run out of food she will dip into mine, that too has been taken care of,of course its in my bedroom as well,so can't wait until Jan when she hand her kid move out!

Wait, stop. You have 11 cats in your home?

AHHHHHHHHH this drives me nuts. especially with paper towels and toilet paper. i can't tolerate Scott toilet paper, and if i wanted cheap paper towels I'd steal them from work. this is the worst thing ever.

Conversely, when I am paying the bills and my "broke" roommate buys the expensive household and personal items. Why can't she buy the cheap shit and give me the extra money to help pay the bills?
