"You cut your hair!"

Is it really necessary to point out what I obviously already know? I had NO IDEA I sat in a chair at a salon for an hour and chopped off my hair.

see, I love that when I g from long hair to really short hair, just because people are almost horrified that I cut my long, beautiful mane. I don't know why they are so shocked--it's my hair (not like I cut yours off!) and it grows back. After all, it's just hair

Even better is when they wait to give their opinion until after they ask, "Well, do YOU like it?" Why not just say you hate it, or better yet say nothing.

What irks me more is when they phrase it as a question... "OMG did you color your hair?" "No I just woke up with it purple like this... it happens..."

Thanks to a recent torrent of spam, I’ve had to disable comments for a while. I’ve now removed the ability to put links in the comments. Email me if you want to put something in, such as five links to knock-off handbag sites, and I’ll happily oblige.

I’ve added two features to the sidebar: Highest Rating and Hotly Debated. They will be updated daily. To my surprise, the ketchup-in-fridge peeve seemed to really incite some anger — it’s clearly a complex situation that affects us all.

It should be noted that the star ratings indicate how much you agree with, or appreciate, the peeve, not how you feel when it happens.

I will be adding a Paragon Peeves section as well, for my and my friends’ personal favorites.
