People who live there do it too. And it's fucking annoying.

Is it just that it's not a very creative way of explaining it?

I hate how New Yorkers think it makes them fucking cool to hate everything about people who aren't from the city. UGH. Living in New York doesn't make you better than everyone else.

Of course it does. Are you trying to tell me I've been living a lie for the last 10 years? Psh.

JMC: yes New York Cityism is arrogant and unfortunate. All the beautiful and amazing places in the world, and they think their city is ZOMGAMAZINGBEST. It's like a tiny bit of extreme nationalism, which is unattractive. Smug arrogance and superiority is not a nice trait!

"Not nice?" Surely you must be from a flyover state.

""Not nice?" Surely you must be from a flyover state." There is the smug arrogance and superiority of which I spoke. I rest my case.

Pretty sure she's joking.

NYC used to be a dump full of gangbangers and prostitutes... Now it's a dump full of tourist traps and pretentious hipsters.
