People who say "film" instead of "movie" - quit being so damn pretentious!

I say film but then, I'm English, if that makes a difference? I didn't think that 'movie' and 'film' had some sort of class inference. They're the same thing as each other? OP makes no sense.

Chances are you're not very pretentious if The Hangover was the best movie/film you've seen all year.

I live in England, and it's not often I hear people say "movie". I myself say "film".

I totally agree with this peeve. If you live in the U.S. and call movies, films....there's a good chance you are a pretentious douchebag.

if you say film i can't help but think that your going out of your way to call it a film. This is because i have never heard someone under the age of 12 say film so basically everybody was brought up saying movies but when some people get older they start to say film because they think it sounds like they know what they are talking about that way
