Escalator as ride.
When someone gets on an escalator and stops moving. This is not a ride at disney world! Please continue to walk up the stairs as usual. (If you are unable to walk up stairs (old, tired, lugging a stroller) the least you can do is stand to the right!)

I am so with you on this one, you have no idea. I'm going to get a BB gun to clear people out of the way. In my office building, they are the width of one person. so you can't pass. They just get on in their fancy high heels and ride the whole way up.

I often walk up escalators that are moving. I want to get there, fast.

I 'ride' it to the top. The point of an escalator is that you don't HAVE to move. You can just stand there. Excuse us for doing so.

I don't mind riders. But I do hate it if I have to go somewhere and riders stand side-by-side, blocking the entire escalator path.

why are you in such a hurry? patience is a virtue, not to mention they are lots of fun, as well as the moving walk-ways in the airport

I too have no problems with "riders" I do, however hate that they don't obey the stand right, walk left rule. I teach them every chance I get

hello, they move so you don't have to. also if you look at it from an engineering stand point, the stair rise is too large for comfortable motion, and clearly isn't designed to be ascended. but yeah, keep getting mad at people using the elevator how they should.

The only time I ride the escalator is when is in a subway station (I once got my shoe stuck in an escalator at Nordstrom, so I'm distrustful). Whether you walk or ride the subway is the difference between missing or catching a train.

Yea I have no problem if they just keep to the right.
