Little paper tags on tea bags that fall in your tea.
You pour scalding hot water over the tea bag, and that fiddly little tag falls in, either causing you to dig it out with a spoon or your fingers, or ignore it and endure the chemical ink from the tag, tainting your beverage.

Erm...wrap the tag round the handle of the tea cup/mug a few times, and this won't happen. OR hold onto the tag as you pour more slowly. Quit complaining and use a bit of common sense. Honestly.

On travel mugs that paper and string doesn't reach. I've worked in coffee shops and tried your methods time and time again all to frequent failure, so :p.

Remove the tag/string before your pour. DUH. AND HANG ONTO IT AS YOU POUR. You worked in a coffee house and failed at making tea?? Perhaps a less taxing job is in order for you. Heaven knows the fits coffee filters must've given you.

could you show up to my old coffee shop at 5am and remove all the tags from the teabags for me? Do it for me since I'm just toooo incompetent! Or maybe I don't actually care that much since this is a PEEVE, not a major life challenge. Perhaps little people like you feel superior over insignificant things like teabag strings because that is your entire world, being king or queen of the 7-11, being "the best" at pumping my gas and bussing tables. Customers like to remove the tea bag from their drink with the string and tag, so no removing it wasn't an option, but thanks for the tip.

You're welcome for the tip! Glad I could help. And yes, I DO feel superior to little tea bag strings. Shouldn't we all? Perhaps if YOU did, you wouldn't have complained in the first place and wouldn't be overcome with the need defend your failure to control the actions of a hot beverage. Really, you're quite silly. Go buy something at WalMart, and you'll soon feel better. Tchuss!
