Agreed. I could care less, also. The question is, could you care MORE? If no, you have successfully completed your hyperbole.

This has been one of my biggest pet peeves for years! I'm so glad to see that someone else has noticed this. I'm sick of explaining to people how the phrase should include the word "couldn't" instead of "could" and getting blank stares in return.

Yeah, if you could care less, then why don't you? A better wording would be "I COULDN'T care less if I tried."
