The use of the word addicting. It's not a word! You mean "addictive"!

God bless you for this pet peeve. I hate "addicting" to. I hate it mainly because for the longest time I thought I was the stupid one because I was unaware addictive had an alternate form. Also becuase people use the word to describe the most mundane things like "chocolate is so addicting".

If its used a lot then it eventually becomes a word. Like 'addicting'.

Oh heavens, yes. I hate that!! Addicting?! Where do people come up with such stupidity?

Well its really not that hard to just politely say to the person the right way to say it, unlike uppity douchebag commenter above me.

THANK YOU.

I googled this and it is, in fact, a word. Addict, addicted, addicting, just like most every other verb in English.
