The fact that I can't change the default automated voice on my cell's answering machine from saying the following:

"The person you are calling is currently unavailable, please leave a message after the tone, to leave a call-back number you can be reached at press pound, for more options press star." Is all that really necessary??! In this day and age do we need to be told to "leave a message after the tone"? And does anyone ever use the other options?!

This is amazing to me, too. Everyone knows what to do, they knew twenty years ago. All they have to know is that they've called the right person, which means they have to hear your voice. So, just say, really, anything, and you're golden!

There are usually ways to turn this off deep within the menu systems, or by calling and complaining about it.

I hate this because you never know if you have the right number. What if you leve a message on the wrong phone?

I wonder if it's some evil phone company ploy to get you to use up more of your airtime minutes, thus earning them millions in additional revenue.

Just wondering: how many times have you tried to call your own cell phone??
