When people buy a huge bag of cheap rice.

Are you kidding me? We don't need the shittiest possible rice imaginable, here. There's a taste difference and a nutritional difference and decent unbleached rice is not that difficult to afford or find.

Why anyone who makes more than $2 per hour would purchase cheap rice is so beyond me - it's like it should be illegal on another planet.

Huge bag of cheap rice? People buy it because they EAT THAT MUCH RICE. Maybe before making your ignorant comments, you use a second of your useless life to understand cultural differences, moron.

You obviously haven't been in the place where you have to choose between eating or starving because your fav food isnt available. Poor you. We got people dying with no food and you are worried about what grade of food someone buys. Lame.

If you're living in a friggin' household with someone, and the price difference is really small, it's not a matter of worrying about the starving people -- they can eat the cheap rice. There are FAR greater examples of snobbery thank the additional seventy-five cents spent on a bag of rice. This is a peeve site, remember.

This is a really dumb pet peeve. Why are you getting pissed off at someone who is buying you food? Why don't you go and buy YOURSELF some fancy Brooklyn foodie rice if you hate it so much? No one is forcing you to eat something that they bought. Get over yourself Alana.

There is no taste, nutritional or other difference between cheap rice and brand-name rice of the same kind. In fact, some of the more expensive rice is crappy. Don't feed me instant rice, I can tell the difference.

AHAHAHAHHAHAH i just laughed so hard that 2 year old rice that was hiding in my sinus cavity from the time i inhaled my food instead of chewing it just shot out of my nasal passage, injuring a small animal
